First of all, thank you for visiting sanona.com, your main source of Hindi films for online viewing.
The use of our streaming film service is dependent on your agreeing to our Terms of Use, but in the
meantime we need to tell you more information about what data we collect and how we use that data. We
also need to tell you a few things about what you can and can’t do with our website (which we may
update from time to time so please check periodically).
If you are a casual visitor to this website and have not yet signed up to receive our streaming film service, then we will only collect the following types of data:
- Your IP address and date and time of your visit, together with details of what pages you viewed.
- Some technical information which helps us make sure that our website works properly, such as the type of browser and device you are using and the operating system.
If you have signed up for one of our services then we will collect at least the following information:
- your name, address and other identifying information,
- your date of birth,
- films and other content you have viewed or accessed,
- information you provide about what you are interested in,
- information you have provided as part of using any of our services, and
- ratings and comments you make about individual movies (if you provide them).
By using your browser to place small identifying files on your computer (commonly known as “cookies”)
we are able to identify you when you return to our website. This allows us to keep a track of visitors
and, if you are a registered user, can help speed up and simplify logging into our website.
The information we collect from casual visitors to our website is only used for statistical purposes,
so that we can, for example, track how many people visit our website and identify the popular pages.
We use this information for such things as ensuring that our web servers are capable of meeting demand
and also putting up more content for popular subjects. This is so that we can provide a bigger and
better service to you.
For everyone else there is a minimum amount of information which we must have if we are to provide
the service to you, such as your name, your billing details, and your login details. We also need
to make sure that nobody misuses your account, so we keep a certain amount of security-related information.
To bill you properly we need to keep a record of what you access and when, together with the cost of this.
With this information we can not only tell you what you have accessed but also bill you.
At the moment our billing is handled by PayPal.
We do provide a range of other services, such as the ability to categorise and display films which meet
your preferences. In time we will add other services. These are optional. You don’t have to use them
but if you do then we will keep a record of your answers. An example is where you want to see movies
and articles about your favourite Bollywood star.
Usually, only to you. We do not share information which could identify you with anyone EXCEPT where
you have specifically requested this or it is required as part of the services we provide. That means
we do not sell your information nor do we share it with anyone. We will, though, provide information
which we are required by law to disclose.
What we will do is use everyone’s information in an anonymised non-attributable form. An example may be
where a film distributor wants to know how many people have viewed a new film, when and where. Film
companies like to know (just as we do) who wants to watch what kind of film so that we can offer it to you.
We will not sell a list of e-mail addresses or other contact information to anyone but we may ourselves
make information provided by third parties to you, particularly where you have indicated a willingness
to receive this.
To help us administer the website and to provide the services to you we do make some data available to third parties, as follows:
- Google Analytics - to provide website traffic information. Your IP address and other non- personal information is collected and analysed by Google Analytics.
- Neteffekt – but only for distributing emails from us to you and for managing our communications with our customers generally.
- Paypal - to process your payments.
If you decide to link your account to
Facebook then we will pass and may receive certain information to and
from Facebook (who you are, your contact details, an identifier (your login ID) and your preferences). Please
note though that once you link to Facebook your data will be made available to Facebook and the wider Facebook
community and friends depending on your Facebook settings. How Facebook uses your information is something you
need to determine with Facebook. Once your information goes to Facebook we cannot control it any longer.
Until you sign up for our services, nothing. Please feel free to browse our website. If you do want to use our
services then you will need to provide information about yourself (see above) and you will have to agree to our
terms of use.
Yes, or at least most of your data. There is information which we do not need to keep, so we are happy to
delete this if you ask us to. After a period of time we may automatically delete this information anyway
for inactive accounts. However, there is some information which we will keep in case there is every a query
about a bill or an amount you have paid, such as your name and address and billing information/details.
We are based in the UK so we are governed by EU and UK data protection and privacy legislation. Not
only are we therefore required to implement various safeguards we do so as a matter of good business
practice and because we value the privacy of our customers.
