Movie Full Storyline

Devastated when she is told that that her sister, Jessica Lall (Myra Karn), is shot dead by Manish Bhardwaj, the son of Pramod, a Congress party Member of Parliament in Haryana, Delhi-based Sabrina Lall (Vidya Balan), in the company of her parents, attends the Court to view a charade that will lead to the acquittal of the accused and his accomplices seven years after the incident.

Disillusioned by rampant police corruption and inefficiency; a stagnant British introduced legal system; the passing of her mother and the hospitalisation of her father, she retreats into herself. Then foul-mouthed NDTV employee, Meera Gaity (Rani Mukherjee), known for being more of an activist than a journalist, takes an interest in this incident and uncovers conspiracy and corruption that led to the acquittal of the murderer - leading to a near India-wide protest.

An absorbing drama

This absorbing drama, which is entertaining, intelligent and realistic, grabs the audiences in the opening half an hour and doesn’t let go until the spirited ending. Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji show just why they are two of the finest actresses of the modern era.

Great movie! It's lovely to see two very talented actresses at the forefront of a movie like this. Also sad to know that it shows the truth about India's justice system and corruption in the country. Hope to see more meaningful female characters like these in Bollywood films. It's 4 stars from me :-)
